CJ7

I happened to watch "CJ7" at a relative's house today. It was so hilarious!! Stephen Chow's trademark comedy is still there. There were some scenes where the idea came from Chow's previous show, "Kung Fu Hustle". "CJ7" tells the story of poor labourer Ti and his son, Dicky (Xu-Jiao) who lives in a rundown shack. Ti alwyas scour around a garbage dump site looking for everyday items to use at home. Being unable to buy his son a present (he uses all his money to pay his son's school fees), Ti manages to find a toy for Dicky at the dump site. But the thing is the 'toy' is actually an alien (whom Dicky named as CJ7). They plan to make a living from the alien, but it has other plans instead. At the end of the day, this show comes out more as a heart-warming movie for the family than as a slapstick comedy Stephen Chow is well-known for.

Happy Chinese New Year And Have A Good "Kung Fu Dunk"

Happy Chinese New Year to all Chinese! Today I went to Mid Valley to watch "Kung Fu Dunk". I was quite surprised to find out that the was not much people watching this show. I guess most choose to watch Stepehn Chow's "CJ7". "Kung Fu Dunk" stars Jay Chou (my idol), Bo-Lin Chen, Baron Chen, Eric Tsang and Charlene Choi (of Hong Kong's 'Twins' duo fame) and is directed by Kevin Chu. The story goes as Fang Shi-Jie (Jay Chou) is an orphan who grows up in a martial arts school. Unexpectedly, he shows his marvellous skills of slam-dunk. His talent was discovered by Wang-Li (Eric Tsang), who plans to use him to make money. So, on the pretext of helping him to find his family, Wang-Li invited him to play basketball at First University. After joining the basketball team, Shi-Jie found out that Li-Li (Charlene Choi), the girl whom he had admired for a long time is actually the sister of Ting-Wei (Bo-Lin Chen) the basketball team's captain. Shi-Jie was desperate to draw her attention. Therefore, he attempted to compete with Xiao-Lan (Baron Chen), who is Li-Li's idol, which made the basketball team lapse into an unstable atmosphere. During the process, the conflicts between each other had been sorted out after the counsel of Ting-Wei. Meanwhile, he helped Shi-Jie combine the foundation of kung-fu into the basketball skills, which brought his skills into full play and helped team go through the critical competitions. At this time, the major competitor faced by Shi-Jie and his team members was the team led by Lee Tien, the previous fighting brother of Ting-Wei. The team was constituted by a group of horrible men who were withstood to join any basketball games in the United States. They also bribed the referees, which made the basketball team of the first university become the living targets and face the situation of crushing defeat. When the situation was in danger, Wang-Li made great efforts to persuade four grand masters with excellent martial arts skills to take up a challenge at the last moment. I can say after the show, there are some parts that I don't like, but it still get 4 stars from me anyway.

Guns & Bloods Fly

The other day, I went to the cybercafe and had a game of Counter-Strike with Syariffuddin. It was so stupid. He just went around inside the airplane in the 747 map. When I saw him, I found out the I cannot shoot because my shoot command was fixed at the 'Enter' button. I got shot and lost. On the 2nd round, I went into the airplane and found him when he suddenly rush into me headlong. I just panicked slightly and shoot a great amount of bullet. That killed him. 3rd round commences, with the same thing happened as in the 2nd round. I won again. 4th round was my worst game ever. I was in the conveyer belt room when he came across me. He walked past me and we turned around to kill off each other. While shooting, we ran out of bullets at the same time. Syarif was quick enough to reload before I do, and he shot me and won that round. On the 5th round, the weird thing happened. I was at the luggage compartment, and he was at the staircase that comes down to here. I saw him first at the staircase, released a few shots and he did the same. He walked away for cover, while I went back down. Then he threw a grenade and it landed around 1.5 metres away from me. It should have killed me, but he died instead. It might have been due to the impact for standing above the explosion spot. So, the final score: Jay-3 Syarif-2
