A Little Facelift

I have finished a minor facelift for my room, just painted the wall sky blue (done this all by myself! :D) and laid down a new carpet (with my mom's help. Thanks mom!).

Some Motoring Videos

Watch this drift video from "Hot Version". Cars competing is a WedsSport Toyota Chaser JZX100 and a Bee*R-tuned Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR32 with a BNR34 front-end conversion called the B324R. Listen to the latter's exhaust popping sounds!

Meet The 'Blue Thunder'

Yes, everyone. Meet the car I call the 'Blue Thunder'. It is my Bayside Blue Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II BNR34 in "Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3DX" game. It may not look much, but it has 700HP at the moment, which allows it to run at speeds in excess of 300 km/h (well, 320 km/h to be exact).

Wangan Midnight

This is currently the anime that is a hit with me. Although "Wangan Midnight" has already been released in 2007, I only started watching it after playing the arcade game of it. Unlike "Initial D", "Wangan Midnight" focuses heavily on top speed runs on the infamous Wangan stretch on the Shuto Expressway in Japan. The story tells Akio Asakura, a 19-year-old high school student, who during a leisurely drive in his Nissan 300ZX (Z31) with his friend Ma and two girls in the back seat encountered the 'Wangan Blackbird', a black Porsche 911 Turbo (964) driven by Tatsuya Shima, a doctor. Akio then decided to chase it down, only to be smoked by the German marque easily. Determined to become faster, he goes to the junkyard because his mechanic friend tells him he saw a wrecked Datsun 240Z (S30) just like Akio wanted. When he sees the damaged midnight blue 240Z in the junkyard, he remembers seeing this car a few years ago with a nice girl in the passenger seat. Intrigued as to why such a classic Japanese performance vehicle is about to be junked, he convinces the junkyard owner to sell it to him. The junkyard owner was told by the previous owner to scrap the car because it is cursed. He soon finds that the car is unnaturally fast due to a highly-tuned L28 engine, bored and stroked to 3.1 L and fitted with twin turbos. He also finds that the one of the car's previous owners shares his first and last name, and had died in a horrible crash on the Wangan. Every person who takes possession of the Z ends up spinning out of control and crashing, as if the car is rebelling against its driver. This gives the blue 240Z the nickname "The Devil Z". Unperturbed by the nickname and dark histroy of the car as well as against the pleas of his friends to give up driving the car, Akio restores the 240Z and bring it back to its former glorious Wangan racing days. It is worth noting that this anime not only talks about street racing, but also dwells on topics such as the technical aspects of a car and also, rare for a vehicle-heavy show, humanity.

End Of The Road

Today is the end of the road for my Sony Ericsson K300i. There is some problem with either the the charging contact point on the phone or the charger itself. Two weeks after I got the joystick problem fixed, this one came up. After much consideration, my dad said there is no point to get it fixed anymore. I am heavy-hearted to say goodbye to it, as this is my first phone that I bought with my ang-pau money nearly 5 years ago. It has been with me through thick and thin and seen my tears of joy and pain. Although its camera is lousy, it has also let me captured some of the best pictures I've taken myself (like my blog's header picture). This phone is also one tough cookie! I have dropped it numerous times and the only problems that it gave me was the charging contact point getting loose and the unresponsive joystick problem. Also, until yesterday it was still running on the original battery that came with it since day one, but it has started showing its age and I had already contemplating of replacing it with a new one already. At the end of the day, it deserves its long over-due rest and I had to finally say farewell to it. The phone is now in a display cabinet in my house, turning it into a "museum piece".

Translated Lyrics

The small yellow flower from the story, Was wandering since he day she was born
Swinging on a swing in her childhood, swinging her memories all the way until now
Playing an opening theme, looking into the sky I think of petals trying to fall
That day I skipped school for you, that day the flower fell
The space of the classroom, why can’t I see it?
That rainy day that disappeared, how I want to be rained upon again
Never thought that I still kept my lost courage
How I want to ask again, will you wait or will you go away?

That day that the wind blew, I tried to hold your hand
But unfortunetly, the rain kept on falling, until I couldn’t see you
How much longer until I can be beside you again?
Waiting for the day to turn clear, maybe I’ll be a little better then
Long ago, a person loved you for so long
But unfortunetly, the wind kept on blowing, widening the gap so much further
So difficult, there's another day to love again
But it seems that, at the end of the story you still said
Goodbye

That day I skipped school for you, that day the flower fell
The space of the classroom, why can’t I see it?
That rainy day that disappeared, how I want to be rained upon again
Never thought that I still kept my lost courage
(How I want to ask again) Will you wait or will you go away?

That day that the wind blew, I tried to hold your hand
But unfortunetly, the rain kept on falling, until I couldn’t see you
How much longer until I can be beside you again?

AE86 Reborn!

After much rumours and countless artist's impression photos, the much-anticipated spiritual successor to the famous Toyota AE86 is finally coming to reality. The soon-to-be-revealed Toyota FT-86 Concept (a creation of Toyota Europe Design Development known as ED2) will feature a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre D4-S 'boxer' engine co-developed by Subaru and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox driving the rear-wheels. While many that are not familiar might think this engine is a diesel (no thanks to the D4-D engine found on the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck), the D4-S is actually runs on petrol. D4-S stands for D4-Superior, and was first seen on the V6 3.5-litre 2GR-FSE engine currently powering the Lexus GS, IS and RX45oh models as well as the Toyota Crown Athlete and Toyota Crown Hybrid. The body is 4160mm long, 1760mm wide, and 1260mm high with a wheelbase of 2570mm, giving it a compact feeling that is easy for the driver to handle the car while able to accommodate four occupants in comfort. This car is scheduled to be unveiled to the public at the Tokyo Motor Show 2009.

Sonnet Of Truth

Everything I ever say or do it is all about you
Everything is already over, I know
But I just couldn't let you go
Because deep inside I know I'm still in love with you
Sometimes my heart shatters like a broken a mirror
Because I feel guilty lying about my feelings for you
I shouldn't lie to ourselves anymore
As these lies will not change the fact that I still love you
It don't matter if you want to loathe me
It don't matter if you want to hurt me or even break my heart
I will pull through all these sufferings if you do
Because my heart is still with you, now and forever
Who would have thought that things could change in such a short time
At times I wish that time would just stop everything around me
Everyday I have to push myself to do every single thing
Because life just isn't as meaningful without you
No one can ever replace your place in my life
As there is only one you that I know and come to love

Art Gallery?

Today is the last day of school for the month. Next whole week all schools in Malaysia will have a one-week holiday. For the past week I have been trying to perfect my 'personal art gallery' at the back of my classroom. Due to the fact that National Day is around the corner, the whole class is thrown into a frenzy to decorate the classroom. We have put up flags of all 14 states and a huge 'Jalur Gemilang' flag. To top off all these, I have decided to draw a national car with the Malaysian flag on its body. After much deciding, I have settled down and draw a Perodua Viva. My reference picture was the Viva Elite Edition, but because the car in the reference picture was small in size and in a dark blue coloured, I have to modify the front bumper and rear spoiler into something of my own design while the rims are the beautiful SSR Type C. Here's the final design of my Perodua Viva "Jalur Gemilang Edition" (this is the original picture without the 'Jalur Gemilang' because I spent the last 2 hours in school to draw it out. When I finished I had a few minutes to go before the bell went off, indicating school's over for the day, which means I couldn't go to the book shop to photostat it and draw the Malaysian flag on the photocopied version):

Also, I'd like to wish Tee Su Poh a Happy Belated Birthday. She's currently still in hospital after having her operation, and talks has it that she is now taller than before! :0 We are praying for her quick recovery and she would return to school after the holidays. Here's wishing you a happy one, Su Poh! :D

Beyond Everything

Sometimes there are things in this world that cannot be solved. There are even things that cannot be explained. I know, yes that my friends do care about me, but sometimes things around me just cannot be solved like this. It would be a miracle if God can solve it the way I want.

A Great Monday

The day after all Form 5 and 6 prefects retire, it's teim for my white school uniform and green pants to retire too... Yes, I AM OFFICIALLY A PREFECT NOW!!! :D So happy when Kumana told us juniors passed our trial period test on Monday morning. Can't wait to wear my prefect uniform on next week. Got to uphold and introduce some new rulings for the school prefects to use... There was a paired oral test for English today, where Suresh and Mun Fai did a very good (or should I put it as fantastic?) comedy, so good that everyone in class was demanding for an encore. Good job, guys! On another note, I wish Su Poh all her best in her operation. Do heal and come back to school early! We miss your mad, sudden burst of laughters that always has everyone in class looking at you. :P

Toyota AE86

This is one post I had always wanted to do for a long time. My focus is on the JDM-spec model Toyota Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno AE86. The Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno, or better known as the AE86, is a highly-capable front engined/rear-wheel-drive (FR) sports coupe produced from 1983 to 1987. The AE86 came either in a 2-door coupe or 3-door liftback body style. Both Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno are generally easy to differentiate, with their fixed rectangular and pop-up headlight design respectively. Three different trim level were offered, namely the SR, GTV and GT-Apex variants. in 1986, minor facelift were done to the car, which resulted in different taillights design. It runs on the high-revving 1.6-litre 16V 4A-GE TVIS (short for 'Toyota Variable Intake System') engine, developed by Toyota with Yamaha which was also used in the first generation AW11 Toyota MR-2. Transmission was originally a 5-speed manual gearbox, but a 4-speed automatic gearbox was later offered. Limited slip differential (LSD) was an option, with exception to the GT-Apex model which came factory-fitted. In popular culture, the AE86 was featured in the "Initial D", a Japanese manga and anime about mountain pass drift racing. In this story the AE86 (a liftback 1983 Sprinter Trueno model) is portrayed as an extremely good car with a racing-spec 'Blacktop' 20V 4A-GE engine from a Toyota AE111 tuned for maximum mountain pass drift attack, racing and winning against more powerful cars in the form of the legendary Nissan Skyline GT-Rs and Mazda RX-7s. As in the world of motorsport, the Toyota AE86 has shown to the world that it is a force to be reckon with in drift racing, as proven by "Drift King" Keiichi Tsuchiya and Malaysia's very own Tengku Djan Ley. Its engine's lack of top speed is compensated with a free-revving nature and ultra nimble handling. My first proper encounter with the AE86 was after watching the 2004 live-action "Initial D" movie starring Jay Chou. It was an early morning schooling day on my awy to school when my transport went past one liftback Sprinter Trueno. Upon reaching school, I quickly went to my class, dump my bag at my seat and ran back out to where I spotted it for a better look. It had almost the same exterior looks as the "Initial D" version, save for the carbon fibre hood (it's vented instead of the OEM-style type) and the 'Fujiwara tofu shop' Japanese character sticker decal (replaced by huge "INITIAL D" logos on both doors). Today, the Toyota AE86 is a highly-sought after car eventhough it now ages well more than 20 years and seems to avoid the depreciation bug year after year.

New Additions To My Collections!

Look at what I got for myself:

Hotwheels miniature cars (the right row) and a 'Cars' Lightning McQueen miniature model! Those Hotwheels cars are from the latest 2009 edition line, but there is a rather odd thing about them. They were made in Malaysia but I have yet to see them anywhere back in KL! :O Anyway, as an introduction to them, these models are (from top to bottom) the Datsun Bluebird 510, Dodge Viper SRT/10 Coupe, the 2010 Ford Mustang GT Coupe, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and the new 2009 Nissan GT-R. I had them for only $1 each, which is cheaper than buying them at KL after converting the currencies. As for the Lightning McQueen car, yes, it's rather childish for me to get it, but I just cannot help it. I just like the show too much that I had to get it.

Currently...

I am currently in Canada for my holidays. This place here has been terrific. My plan journey to here took 18 hours, and the moment I stepped out of the airport I spotted Toyota Priuses being used as taxis. Well, one of my main missions when I'm here is to visit car showrooms and get brochures of cars that I don't get to see in Malaysia. I did it today, and as bonus, I even get to see a Dodge Viper, Ford Mustangs as well as the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Next is some book-hunting sessions, and I am slightly disappointed in this aspect as there isn't many shopping malls around, which mean not many book shops or stores as well. Well, gotta visit a park tomorrow. I want to feed some cute squirrrels there. Till then, enjoy some of this pictures I took.

P/S: American V8 engines sounds FANTASTIC! If by any chance, make sure you take a good listen at the engine note.

A New Day

Today is a new day, as my class has already finished our 2nd term exam. As a self congratulatory celebration, I went out to Mid valley with my sister after school and played "Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3DX". I had initially thought of getting the Gemballa Avanlanche GTR 750 as my car after looking up on info about the game from its official site, but that car was only available for Japanese version, so I have to make do with a 'Bayside Blue' Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur (BNR34). I'm still having problem playing this game, but I'll adapt to it soon. After that I tried out Initial D Arcade Stage 5, and I must say, this new version is EXTREMELY DIFFERENT from Stage 4. Try it out for yourself to see the differences. But there is one moment in the game that I couldn't stop laughing at. You see, I "test drive" this new game at the new map Nagao, and although I had see a YouTube video of someone driving on this road, I failed to notice that there are uncovered drains (like those at Tsukuba) at some corners and they cannot be used like how everyone use to take corners and overtake an opponent at Tsukuba (meaning: cut across the drains to the other side) because there isn't any space or land at the other side, only a brick wall! So, when I took the first corner with the drain, the moment I saw the drain, I went "Oh SH*T!" and the right-side tyres just dropped into it, losing all my speed in an instant. Hahaha!! Now that's something different.

P/S: My "Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3DX" name is the same as my Initial D game's name, JAY.

千年之恋 - F.I.R

Happy Happy! :-)

This is GREAT! I finally realised one of my long-time dream, that is to be a prefect! Although I'll start as a trainee tomorrow, but it is nonetheless, better than never. :-)

我們的愛 - F.I.R

The Reality

Never in my life had I felt so different. After doing my English oral test, I realized that my life is tied to the world of cars and racing. It's all about speed and horsepower in everything I do. Now do I realize that my interest is not crazy, but it makes me special. It makes me stand out from a crowd of common thinking bunch of peers...

Fast & Furious 4 Cars: Subaru Impreza WRX STi (GRB)

This is the other car driven by tuner head Brian O'Connor in "Fast & Furious 4". This GRB Subaru Impreza WRX STi has a VeilSide bodykit complete with a VeilSide hood and roof scoop. Like the Skyline GT-R, this Impreza's EJ25 engine has mild engine tuning, with a reflashed ECU, Perrin air filter and intercooler as well as full Remus exhaust system. Power is transferred via its stock drivetrain to the ground with those gorgeous black 18" Enkei NT03+M wheels wrapped in Continental SportContact 2 rubbers measuring 285/30 R19. The suspension and brakes has been left untouched too. The reason these two aspects has been left untouched was because director Justin Lin said that this car is tough enough to be trashed about on the set with its stock parts. Interior changes includes Momo steering wheel, VeilSide bucket seats with Takata 4-point harnesses, VeilSide gearknob and Matt Sweeney custom-fabricated rollcage.

Fast & Furious 4 Cars: Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34)

The famed Japanese tuner machine Nissan Skyline GT-R (nicknamed 'Godzilla') makes a return in "Fast & Furious 4". Driven by Paul Walker's character Brian O'Connor, this car is actually a kit car built by Kaizo Industries. As it is difficult to make Skylines street-legal in the United States, Universal Studios approached Kaizo to have a street-legal version of this Japanese monster that actually came in a rolling-shell form (read: without drivetrain) with the engine and gearbox assembled in the U.S, just to comply with the NHTSA's `assemblage of parts' ruling. This car looks very much like a sleeper with its understated Bayside Blue stock-looking exterior. The only difference are the Nismo front bumper and side skirts, gunmetal grey Volk Racing RE30 19" rims and Sunline Auto carbon fibre hood painted the same as the car. While the RB26DETT engine received mild mods, with a K&N air filter, Turbonetics intercooler and Cobb muffler being the only changes, the main power adder has to be the infamous NOS nitrous oxide system. With that kind of 'go' power, the 'stop' power has got to be equally impressive too, so Rotora's big brake conversion kit that includes cross-drilled and grooved disc with 6-pot front calipers and 4-pot rear calipers are called into task. Handling is courtesy of Nismo lowering coil springs, Eibach anti-roll bars and ARC front titanium strut bar, while wrapping those uber-beautiful Volk Racing wheels are Toyo's finest Proxes T1-R tyres, measuring 275/30 R19 all round. The interior has been revamped too. Momo steering wheel, OMP bucket seats with OMP 4-point harnesses seat belts and gearknob as well as a set of pedals from the V-Spec II Nur model of the BNR34. But the first thing that will catch your attention the moment you open the car's doors is the large LCD panel smacked right at the top of the centre of the dashboard. That is actually a Xenarc LCD computer screen that works together a Magden M.1B data recorder box. The LCD screen can be set to display a vehicle's parameters in analogue or digital graphic meter form. Many of these GT-Rs were used during filming, but there were also ER34 25GT Turbos used for stunt driving purposes. Heck, there's even a rolling-shell that uses the original Volkswagen Beetle's rear-mounted engine for off-road driving scenes!

Fast & Furious 4

The much-awaited "Fast & Furious 4" movie is the latest in the Universal Studio's highly-successful "Fast & Furious" street-racing franchise. The events of "Fast & Furious 4" takes place before the story in "The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift". Featuring the original casts from the first show, this newest movie tells of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), who was let off by undercover cop Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) at the end of "The Fast & The Furious", has escaped to Mexico for five years. Now, holed up in a beach shack in the Dominican Republic, and living on the run with the sole remnant of his past, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), he tries to piece together a new life. But he knows the authorities are always just steps behind him. When a tragic death of someone he loves brings him back to L.A, Dom reignites his feud with Brian. As they are forced to confront a shared enemy, a sociopathic drug kingpin who is flooding the U.S with lethal products, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to out maneuvre him and avenge the tragedy that he caused their small de facto family to endure. Infiltrating the underground network means earning a spot on the heist squad that moves high-grade heroine across the border from Mexico through almost unnavigable tunnels carved into caves. Two lieutenants in the cartel, Campos (John Ortiz) and Fenix (Laz Alonso), are the only ones who can provide the access Dom and Brian need and the answers they're after. As Dom, his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and Brian rediscover the family bond that was torn apart so long ago, the unlikely allies again find themselves pitted against one another in a race that takes them to the brink. Now, from convoy heists on the mountaineous countryside of the Dominican Republic to precision tunnel crawls across the floor of the Mexican desert, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheels!
